China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world but just how did it get to this stage? Well there are a number of reasons not least the fact that there have been an number of economic reforms introduced in order to boost productivity.
While China is still known for having stricter government controls they have made significant progress in allowing business and trade the room it needs to grow and learn Spanish prosper. It's just all been done with a good measure of thought and restraint which has in turn allowed the country to still remain true to many of it's core values and principals.
If we look at the rural sector in particular things become very interesting.
1978 was the year when many of the reforms came into being. Up until then almost 4 out of every 5 Chinese were employed in the agriculture sector which is quite amazing. After the reforms only 1 or 2 out of every 5 where working in agriculture.
One of the main reforms had a huge effect in that it expanded the property rights of the people working and living in the countryside. This had an instant effect of creating a lot of nonagricultural businesses set in amongst the rural communities.
Another effect was that of "decollectivization" which forced farms to operate more productive and efficient farms. It was a hard transition but a necessary one. The rural community quickly learned how to employ and use their labor resources in a far more efficient and productive way.
Perhaps the biggest change of all however was the fact that many people saw the opportunity to escape working in agriculture altogether. Other kinds of jobs and careers became available for ordinary people to reach for and all for the first time in generations.
